How to prevent gas leaks?
Regularly check whether connecting parts, hoses, and valves are intact.
Frequently open kitchen windows for ventilation to dilute gas concentration in case of a leak and prevent explosions.
Install a gas alarm to take preventive measures.
A household gas alarm is a crucial device for preventing gas leaks. Its core component is a sensor, which continuously monitors the concentration of leaked flammable gas 24 hours a day. Once the concentration reaches or exceeds the preset value, the alarm will immediately emit audible and visual signals to alert people to take emergency precautions.
How to install a household gas alarm?
With increasing public safety awareness and the promotion of national policies, the installation rate of household gas alarms has gradually risen in recent years, safeguarding the gas safety of countless households. However, incorrect installation and usage not only fail to provide early warnings but may also lead to new hazards due to false alarms or failure to alarm.
★ The gas alarm should be installed on an indoor wall within 4 meters and at least 2 meters away horizontally from gas appliances or gas sources, in a well-ventilated area.
★ When detecting gases lighter than air, such as natural gas, the alarm should be installed 0.3–0.6 meters from the ceiling.
★ When detecting gases heavier than air, such as liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), the alarm should be installed 0.3–0.6 meters from the floor.
★ Note: Gas alarms should not be installed in the following locations:
Areas with strong airflow, such as passageways;
Places with water mist or dripping water;
Near stoves where they may be contaminated by grease fumes or steam, or in high-temperature environments (e.g., directly above stoves);
Locations obstructed by other objects (e.g., inside cabinets);
Next to vibrating objects such as refrigerators or air conditioners.
★ Regardless of where the gas alarm is installed, its sensor should always face downward. The alarm should be placed in a location where it is easy to see and hear, with its display panel facing people. It should not be installed facing backward or sideways.
How to select and use gas appliance hoses?
◆ Metal connection hoses that comply with current national standards should be preferred. Compared to rubber composite hoses, metal-clad hoses and metal corrugated hoses are more heat-resistant, corrosion-resistant, and rodent-proof.
◆ Ensure that the connection between the gas appliance hose and the gas equipment pipeline is secure. Regularly check for gas leaks at the connection points. If a leak is detected, stop using it immediately.
◆ Replace gas appliance hoses regularly.
How to install a pipeline gas automatic shut-off valve?
The pipeline gas automatic shut-off valve provides automatic cut-off protection against overpressure, underpressure, and excessive flow. It automatically shuts off when the gas pressure in the pipeline exceeds or falls below a certain threshold, or when abnormal increases in gas flow occur due to hose detachment, thereby ensuring user safety. During installation, ensure the gas pipeline is clean to prevent debris and dirt from entering the valve. Consider the convenience of operating and maintaining the valve during installation, and ensure the quality and sealing of the connecting pipeline between the valve and the gas meter.
